Checking out the libations at M – 32° Draft Bar

So WineWenchLV and I decided to check out 32° Draft Bar at the newly-opened M Resort, located at Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose Parkway at the southern end of Las Vegas.

The results were not good.

Always looking for a bargain, we were first going to stop at the Rewards Center to pick up our Rewards Cards and collect the free offerings that were sent to us in the mail. The line at the Rewards Center looked at least an hour long, so we decided to pass (I’ll go in early one morning and get mine).

Arriving at 32° Draft Bar we found a smallish seating area open to the Casino. This was a small problem for us, as the ventilation system wasn’t handing the ever-present smokers’ exhaust, and since casino bars and restaurants are exempt from the state no-smoking laws, the second-hand smoke level was high but not a show-stopper.

We normally prefer sitting at the bar, since it allows us to strike up conversations with others seated nearby, but since all of the bar seats are in front of a video poker machine embedded into the bar, we didn’t want to take up two seats that might be used by a playing customer. We found a vacant tall table with two seats and waited for a server.

The wait took about 15 minutes.

When the server finally showed up we asked her for a Beer Menu, as there are 96 beers on tap. We were told by the server that there was no Beer Menu available, so we’d have to walk up to the bar and look at the various taps to see what we wanted.

Well, since we didn’t want to both go up to the bar and risk losing our table, WineWenchLV offered to go up and take a look. She came back a few moments later, and said it was next to impossible to see the brands based simply by looking at the taps. Since my eyesight is worse than hers, there was no point in me even trying to take a look.

We left thirsty.

When we got home later, I went to the website, and lo and behold, they have a beer menu. Perusing thru it, they don’t seem to carry anything we can’t get at The Yard House just up the road at Town Square.
